HAND MADE
The necklaces are all handmade by The Peddlers, in the US of A. Each necklace is a little different, made from a US Dime and a Sterling Silver chain and bar. In addition to the hammering of the metal, each necklace is assembled, inscribed, finished and packaged by hand. There are two lengths, 18” and 24”, and two finishes, antique and bright silver.
ABOUT
We started making these necklaces to fund our USA bicycle journey nearly 2 years ago and we’ve been going steady ever since! Zach cuts, pounds and stamps while Jessamee assembles, finishes and handles the orders--mostly. We love this scheme because YOU get a necklace and WE get to ride—everyone wins!
HOW IT WORKS
We carry a small box of supplies and tools--a hammer, tiny anvil, letters, pliers etc. packed on our bicycles. The whole mess weighs about 10 pounds. We ride our bikes about 60 miles per day and in the evening we usually find a beautiful spot to camp; at camp we make necklaces! The next day we ride on down the road, and stop in at the next post-office we come to. Turn-around is usually pretty quick, unless we're out of cell service for a couple of days. We usually can get your necklace out within 3 days or so! Not too bad!
